Director: George Romero
Starring: Jayson Flemyng, Peter Stormare
No, because you shouldn't watch the movie.
THE SETUP:
Wimpy guy wakes up to find that his face is a smooth blank mask.
DISCUSSION:
I bought this one for one reason, and you can guess what that is. I was also able to pick up Day of the Dead for $6, and watched that the night before. The comparison was NOT a good one. This movie is really made-for-video quality in every respect, and, sadly, really diminished my view of Romero's talents.
Could it be that the Dead series was just such a great concept that it's hard to go wrong with? I don't think so, Day [not to mention Night and Dawn] still has so many great ideas popping out all over, a strong, propulsive narrative, and really chilling scenes... this film has a very tired story, truly terrible acting (particularly by the lead), seen-it-a-hundred-times before scenes... it just defines the word "lame."
The vengeful payoff scenes are VERY anticlimatic, and the entire story is, hate to say it, STUPID. If you love George, you are better just pretending that this one doesn't exist.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT?
Hello? What did I say?
